本校於7月27日（日）參加了由招商局舉辦的「海上學堂及灣區郵輪」活動，28名學生及家長早上於上環碼頭出發，乘船前往蛇口碼頭，參加深圳大學的《古船今港》海洋文化先導課堂，深入認識中國悠久的航海歷史，包括認識航海家、船隻種類等，還動手設計及製作港口碼頭手作。另外，同學們更在導師帶領下參觀蛇口港口指揮中心，了解指揮中心日常運作。
在豐富的午餐後，同學及家長們更登上灣區郵輪「伊敦號」，從蛇口國際郵輪碼頭出發，穿越港珠澳大橋底部，近距離觀察這項宏大建築，途中更遠眺伶仃島、港珠澳人工島等景觀。同學們亦在郵輪上享用不同的設施，於有趣的兒童問答遊戲及魔術表演中參加互動環節，享受愉快充實的下午。
同學們在是次活動中眼界大開，認識到國內近代的科技發展，提升科技及文化知識。
Maritime Classroom & Greater Bay Area Cruise Educational Tour
On 27th July, our school participated in the Maritime Classroom & Greater Bay Area Cruise programme organised by China Merchants Group. A group of 28 students and parents departed from Sheung Wan Pier in the morning, sailing to Shekou Port in Shenzhen to attend Shenzhen University’s 'Ancient Ships & Modern Ports' marine culture course.
During the course, students delved into China’s rich maritime history, learning about famous explorers, different types of traditional vessels, and the evolution of seafaring technology. They also engaged in a hands-on activity, designing and constructing their own model ports. Additionally, the group visited Shekou Port’s Command Centre , where they observed daily operations and gained insights into modern port management.
After a delicious lunch, students and parents boarded the Yi Dun cruise ship at Shekou International Cruise Terminal. The journey took them beneath the awe-inspiring Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, offering a close-up view of this engineering marvel. Along the way, they also admired scenic views of Lingding Island and the artificial islands of the bridge project. Onboard, students enjoyed various cruise facilities and participated in interactive activities, including some children’s game and a magic show, making for a delightful and enriching afternoon.
This eye-opening experience allowed students to witness China’s recent technological advancements in maritime infrastructure, broadening their knowledge in both science and culture.
